Accidentally, tomorrow is children's day! And what a way to celebrate it.

Hi EvolGarlic Here, here's the newsletter from your truly EvolGarlic Article Pelican Newsletter on Substack :

Happy new year again folks, it's 2025, where January is the beginning of the year, and the last year's party decorations might aged well, because we have to head back to our works and life again until another holiday (in my country case, Songkran Days in the April)

Before the last day of the 2024, I was breaking my bamboo bank (it's piggy bank but it's not a pig, it's a bamboo) to see what's in there after many months of saving money in there, I was mildly shock that I collected almost 800 baht ($) (it is somewhere between 740 or 760) so after thinking about how should I spending this money on foods and snack that will lasted from the day I opened it up till next year, I figure it out that I would buy some snacks and drinks to enjoy the last few day of 2024 and even a January 1st.

After starting the motorcycle, ride it on my town street where cars are everywhere, I thought I should find some snacks and drinks in the minimart that I barely go to there, so I take a left turn and park in Big-C Mini, another convenience store in my town which has less customer than the 3s 7-11 store in the town, which I go to it more often.

But the reason for me to entering Big-C Mini on that day was because it has more things to shop than 7-11, despite the size of the shop that was smaller than 7-11, this store has a bunch of things that 7-11 don't sell (or at least used to sell) so I figure out that I want to find something that unique and special, something I don't see in 7-11.

First thing I bought was a two bottle of Sarsi Root Beer cola, which this store has, second was a pack of Lorenz Saltletts Brezel, which I thought was sweet, but I forgot to read the package and soon found out the salty taste.

And the third one was a snack that I didn't expect to see in there, a box of Glico Bisco, another one of many snacks from Glico, the big daddy of the Japanese snacks company.

So, after paying, and navigating my motorcycle from the street that was filled with cars and arriving at my house, I was eager to try everything, especially the Bisco, because I don’t know what it will taste like, is it going to be tasty? Is the cream inside the biscuit going to be sweet milk or something else?

After tasting the Lorenz Saltletts Brezel, which is salty and should go well with my sarsi, but I didn't eat with it, and tasting the sarsi, which is what I expected, should be going well with the Lorenz Saltletts Brezel, it was time for the tasting test I looking forward to.

Bisco was one of the best snacks Glico ever have in their arsenal of

Snacks, debuted on 1933, it was born to do one thing or two: Nutritional and delicious, because the Bisco has a lactic acid in the filling (it was yeast before) so it will benefit for the kid to improve their health (Gastrointestinal Function) with the famous red box and the boy face on the box, signaling that this snack is for the kids, and the big bear who just bought this because he was curious.

The box contains three packs of the Biscuit, each pack contains five Biscuit, and although the Biscuit looks small on my holding fingers (because it was made for kids not the big guy) the taste surprised me.

The filling inside was jumping between milky and sour milk-ish taste, the biscuit was a little bit soft, and it was an enjoyment to sweep the whole pack, despite the small figure, this thing would pack a punch that would hit you in the guts and send you into the childhood memories.

Despite the blissful taste that my younger self would appreciate, the price was not a kid level: 49 baht.

Now you might think that 49 baht is too expensive, but since it was a imported, the price is worth the try, and if I crave for something that screaming nostalgia, I'll pay for it, and I know, I might sweep the whole box in one day, but I am grown up, I'll make sure I eating it one pack a day or two.

So, if you are interested in tasting the goodness from one of the most legendary companies in Japan, go find it!

Score: 7 Thumbs Up out of 10 Thump Up.
