[Short Review] Double Pagoda Menglembu Groundnut Review.

Going nuts? Well, this groundnut will probably not make you nuts.

Hi EvolGarlic here, here's another good one from your Blogletter called EGG! :

Sometimes, we are just looking for a snack that is fun to eat with an action that gives your hand a little bit of exercise that rewards you with goodness that your finger is working for because, let's face it, folks, typical open-and-eat-it snacks are nice. Still, sometimes, they are a little bit of repetitive snacks; how can you eat that potato chip on the third day?

That question and similar questions are repeated in my head whenever I enter a minimart to find a snack to munch on, as I walk past many snacks to find something that will fit the mood for that day, I walk and look for something to eat but not to find something that was not like the others.

And "Finding something that was not like the other" quest has led me to a snack that I had skipped for years; it was a classic snack with few ingredients in it, literally two things in it. It is a good side-dish snack when you have a party, and the supermarket is so good; it has been on the market for years, talking about decades of existence.

That snack in the aisle of my town's Lotus Go Fresh supermarket was a brand called Double Pagoda Menglembu Groundnut, which matches the thing that I said about :

Classic snack? Yes, very classic snack.

With few ingredients in it, literally two things in it? Yes, 99% Roasted Menglembu Groundnut and 1% salt.

Can it be a good side dish snack when you have a party? Oh yes, tasty, a little salty, and mostly nutty!

And the brand was so good, it was on the market for years, talking about decades of existence? Oh yes, it is still there.

But my curiosity got me thinking: I haven't eaten this brand for years, and can't even remember ever eating one. Is this "Classic Package" Groundnut that I bought from a supermarket any good?

So I sit down at my table, on a Friday evening, pour that Double Pagoda into the bowl, and let the nuts do the talking.

As it turned out, I was expecting the nutty taste of all those groundnuts, but here's the thing: it is a little bit of salty, but mostly pleasant nutty taste that keeps you wanting to crack more to get more of this goodness.

After demolishing the bowl and dumping it into my nearby plant pot, I did not believe that this brand was a real deal.

To sum it up

If you want a side dish snacks that taste great (literally two things in it) and is no-nonsense, for just 20 baht, this is a good choice.

Although the size and amount of groundnuts might be a small portion, it is okay for me, because it was just literally two things in it, unlike the other brands.

Where Do You Find Them? (In Thailand)

Double Pagoda Menglembu Groundnut is available for you to grab and taste in most minimart stores like 7-11 online (probably an online order, because I checked in my town 7-11 and saw none).

So the way to find this is at the BigC, Lotus, Makro, or a regular shop.

Score: 8 Out of 10 Points.
