Samsung Galaxy Ace 4 Lite: The smartphone that opened the smartphone world for me(and how it's started my photography flame)

Hi EvolGarlic here, thank you for opening up this publication that the Pelican has sent to you, have a seat dear readers everywhere, because I have a story to tell about the past tech and Gadgets I experienced, so sit back, grab your cup of Joe or your favourite oolong tea (or any other tea will do) and listen to the story of the first smartphone I ever owned.

It was a long time ago when the mobile phone went from brick that might shatter the floor if you dropped it to slim and could do anything from taking photos to even playing "Call Of Duty Warzone" in your hand without a pc (but you probably need a beefy smartphone) technology world has gone far than we think, it's kinda like the time has gone fast than we think, like the time you decide to nap just for 30 minutes but ended up sleeping the whole 7 hours.

I was also riding this wave of technology, in the year 2010, my first feature phone was the Wellcom W3350, a somewhat bold-looking feature phone with the features that every mobile phone should at least have like a Double Sim Slot, Camera and best feature of all: Built-in television receiver, yes that was a feature that is considered one of the luxury features, and I somehow managed to have it (with the help from my mom) but the time I use it in real time was not good.

But as time went by, this W3350 was good till 2012 when the phone went bonkers and broke itself (forget the reason why it broke down because it happened 13 years ago, my memory wasn't that good with this mobile phone) so I have to move on to the second mobile phone: Nokia Asha 202, a mobile phone with upgraded feature like touchscreen, more ram and rom than the W3350, and most importantly: Overall toughness!

Seriously, it was dropped on the hard cement floor, in the toilet, and many times bumping hard; this mobile phone was still intact and still went on to perform like the accident didn't happen; this is truly a Nokia standard that performed right in front of you.

Funny enough, the 2 mobile phones I own were in my middle school phase (2007-2012) and once I transitioned into high school(2013-2019) it seemed like the smartphone had now started taking over the feature phone world, and my Nokia has to retired it's duty in between late 2013 to 2014.

Soon, the door was open for one particular smartphone to enter my life, a well-known brand that was superior and one of the most loved brands: Samsung.

To be specific, the Samsung Galaxy Ace 4 Lite to be exact, I felt curious and excited at the same time as this was the first time I was introduced to an Android Smartphone ever, despite the specs that might sound outdated in this current time, but at that time it was a huge upgrade from the Asha 202 in terms of Rome and Ram.

What I can remember most of the time when I used this smartphone was music, camera and photography, YouTube and Instagram, because at that time I was 15 years old, of course, I was going out in life, capturing and listening to every song I liked and even try to load in the famous Vine app, but didn't work so I moved on.

Although I have so much fun with this smartphone, the only photos I can find in the archive were this beautiful view of a pineapple field and the landscape-ish photo, those 2 photos are unedited and unfiltered of my Galaxy Ace 4 Lite because at that time I love to put a filter on photo to make it make beautiful (but look too bright in colour, it kinda like I dipped it in the can of paint and hope it will come out like a masterpiece)

This is the beginning of the relationship between photography and smartphones, and talking about it nearly 10 years later, it feels like the smartphone world is evolving; take a look at the photo at the top and compare it to the current time photo of your smartphone The technology world sure does go fast, isn't it?

While it is fun to use, in October 2016, this smartphone was retired from duty, and I was upgraded to the Samsung Galaxy J2 Prime, another quality smartphone from Samsung which are also great to use, but that is the story for the next publication, and if you wonder about the retired Ace 4 Lite? well, I exchange it for egg(yes we have this kind of service) and now I don't know where it went, but what I know is that the Samsung Galaxy Ace 4 was a part of the history of my life during the teen phase, and one of many stepping stone for smartphone to evolve into what we use today.

So that's the story of how the Samsung Galaxy Ace 4 Lite from nearly 10 years ago. Do you have memories of the smartphone you bought 10 years ago? If so, what is the best moment you have with? That is the question for you to think about.

Thank you for reading the article! see you in the next one!
