[Short Review] Calpis Soda Review: The Cure of the summers blues.
When you don't want a cola, a fizzy buzz-fused Calpis will do it for you.

Hi EvolGarlic here from your truly EGG! Here is another good for this Monday :
April is the month of the summer, a month where some days are just pure heat; it feels like the sun is right there in front of you, and the Songkran days, where splashing waters is a traditional way to cool down and party.
Now, back then like 10+ years ago, Songkran Day was pretty much a "Holiday Of Turmoil and Fun" festival and parade, splashing spots everywhere, but as time goes by, 10 years later, it seems like my city was now nearly a shadow of the past 10 years ago, fewer people playing waters splashing (not that low, just not too much) due to how the economy is going mostly down and up less, it seems like Songkran day in my city was a little bit less crowded.
Let's go away to the feeling of the blues in a less crowded; I prefer to just sit down, lie on the natural umbrella called "tree," and just nap under the sun; that's how I spent my days in Thailand most festive holidays.
And to help with getting the blues away, I have a drink that I sip on to cure down the heat of this summer (well, it was less hot than last year when the temperature was going too high as 42, and some days the sky was teasing about rain, but not, the rain just skip my city and going to another city, it is like how you waving for that taxi but that driver just drive right past you, very slowly) it is fizzy, in a can, but unlike what you think, this is not a cola drink.
Because let's face it, I need something more than a cola, yes, I love them all, the blue brand is sweet, and the red brand is fizzy, but sometimes, I need something else to clean my palette of taste buds, and what a better candidate to do it for me is a drink that I admire for when it was not soda, now when it soda? I even love it more!
That drink was Calpis Soda! a fizzy version of your typical Japanese summer's love drink. Calpis/Calpico, a unique sensation drink, is now a soda version of my favorite beverage to go to when I thirst for something that hits my taste buds.
To tell you how they taste, think Calpis, but now it is joining together with a fizzy soda; you get that milky taste, but now in soda form, smooth and fizzy in the same can.
And hey, unlike the other you-know-what cola or that fizzy stuff you drink, this one has a lactobacillus, not a lot, and not that beneficial like one sip and you'll get a healthy sip from it, but it is better than your you-know-what.
To sum it up:
If you are looking for a softer side of carbonated water with a fizz that you are used to, this unique drink with a taste that makes you feel like Japan's summer love and romance is the drink that you should try.
But if you don't like it? Well, you can try the original non-carbonated version of Calpis, which doesn't have a fizzy soda, but you'll taste its goodness in its real form.
So, if wanted to try one today, go ahead and find it at most convenience stores like 7-11 and BigC and Familymart, but I have to warn you, once you taste it, you might be in a fan club of it, you might even replace it.
If the days are hot and long, which might happen in any season, because, you know, climate change, this drink might be your next companion to that day of hot and sunny day.
And just the price of nearly 22 baht, bit of a expensive, but if you wanted to break away from the cola and get into something that unique and interesting, this can can!
